Why technical SEO matters
Content quality is important, but search engines can only rank pages they can find, crawl and understand. Technical SEO covers everything that affects crawlability, indexability and structured representation of your content.
Crawlability checklist
Verify that robots.txt does not accidentally block important pages. Make sure your XML sitemap is up to date and submitted to Search Console. Check for crawl traps — infinite pagination, session IDs in URLs, faceted navigation without canonical controls.
Indexability checklist
Check that pages you want indexed are not marked noindex. Confirm canonical tags point to the correct URL. Avoid duplicate content across HTTP and HTTPS or www and non-www versions — pick one and redirect the other consistently.

On-page signals
Every page needs a unique title tag (30–65 characters) and meta description (70–160 characters). Use a single H1. Structure headings hierarchically. Add structured data (JSON-LD) where relevant — Article, Product, FAQ and BreadcrumbList are the most widely supported types.
Performance signals
Page experience signals including Core Web Vitals are part of Google's ranking systems. A page that loads slowly or shifts layout is less competitive regardless of content quality. Technical SEO and performance optimization are not separate disciplines.
